Subject: GPI Error Running FCONSOLE
Date: October 2, 1990

PROBLEM: A customer was receiving a GPI error at file server when
running FCONSOLE disk statistics. Also, running DISK at the
console would send the file server a GPI error.
Configuration: IBM PS/2 Model 80
Two regular Token-Ring adapters
Two 380MB ESDI drives
Running NetWare 2.15c.
The file server has three file service
processes (FSPs).
This site had several other file servers with the same
configuration that had four FSPs. We had the customer run
the PROCES.ARC patch and that did not seem to work. He went
into NETGEN and found that Hot Fix was not set up properly;
the logical size was the same as the physical. He made the
logical size smaller to increase the Hot Fix area. This
seemed to take care of the problem. FCONSOLE and the
console DISK command works fine now.
SOLUTION: Set up Hot Fix correctly, so that the logical size is
smaller than physical size of the drive.
